App Icons - Logos and Symbols
The Coordin8 app aims to help friends stay in touch by scheduling hangout sessions for users. People tie strings to their fingers in order to remember something, keeping in touch with friends being the most important. Researching other calendar apps, influenced the simplistic copy of the app. The use of personas and user testing helps the designer create the layout of Coordin8 with the user in mind. The icons reflect a handmade and personal feeling of connection.
The pop of red, against an otherwise black and white app, represents this string tying people together. Coordin8, an iPhone application, uses a RGB color space, optimal for digital content.
Coordin8 utilizes a modified Bradley hand Bold in the logotype, furthering the consistency of a handmade look. The font family Athelas displays the text within the app. Being a serif, Athelas, users read the content easier.
